Match Reports - Round 4

U8 - Blue Vs Erina

Our 4th game of the season saw us play the Erina Eagles and it was another great game from the team.  They hustled well all game and crossed for 6 tries.
MOM Kobi once again had fantastic line speed all game in defence and played well at his first time at first receiver. Coaches award went to Matari who also had great line speed in defence and kept putting in effort all match.
Xanda scored a great Matt Dufty like solo try. Hudson also had a great try which came about from his support play. Another good team effort.

Due to a combination of sharing the hit ups & passing there were a number of try’s scored by Lincoln, Reef, Ty, Nash, Sonny & today’s captain Lachlan. Assisting with gaining points were conversions kicked by Josh and Tate.
Congratulations to Today’s match day player Tate

11-1s Vs Erina

Our match started off promising with some great hit ups and tackles and some enticing runs. Still battling on with a few players
away we have to give a huge thanks once again to Billy and Zavier for backing up for the team. Back to the drawing board this week to
get our plays in action. Player of the match went to Shaleah. Thanks to all the parents, club and families.

U13-2 Vs Warnervale

This was our first game since being moved up a division and saw us face off against last year’s grand final winners, Warnervale. After 3 huge wins, in the preceding rounds, the boys’ confidence was a little too high before a hard reality check has bought them back down to Earth.
Defence was solid for the most part but really high caliber attacking play from the opposition had our boys on the back foot. Several errors in the wet conditions saw us defending multiple repeat sets and ins inevitably conceding a lot of points.
Attack was fairly scarce with possession heavily skewed to the opposition. The sets that were completed were of a fairly high quality some strong attacking runs but ultimately failed to breach the Warnervale defensive line.
Players’ Player this week goes to Lucas Sant for another outstanding game. Whether 40 up or 40 down, Lucas has never failed to shine in his defensive and this week made an incredible number of tackles.
Coaches and Managers’ award went to Thomas Floyd for a courageous running game against a much bigger opposition, great defence and for his tenacious “never give up” effort, even on the wrong side of a huge margin.

Final score: Warnervale 40 def Northern Lakes 0.

U14-3s vs Wyong

Northern Lakes Warriors 46 - Wyong 0

It was a nice dominate display from our boys which saw us rack up our third straight win and for the second week in a row keep our opponents scoreless.
The first half we started very slow and a little sluggish, to much dropped ball and loose ball security over the line saw us bomb three tries in the first half and keep g in the contest.
We went into the break only 10-0 up and the boys knew this was never going to be enough points to secure a win if our defence dropped off.
Well I am unsure what was in the water at half time, but the second half saw a completely different team come out.
We rolled up hard in defence and put pressure on straight from the get go and the result saw us put another 36 unanswered points on Wyong.
Players of the week was extremely difficult this week but based on attitude and performance the winners were, Coaches award for best on ground went to Ty for a dominate and skilful display from our halfback and captain.
Waterboy award this week went to Leon. His support play and hard running from fullback was outstanding.
Tries this week went to Ty, Leon, Luke, Toby, Dylan, Kurtis, Alex, Jett x 2
Leon kicked 4, Jett kicked 1
Defence wins games and it’s starting to show.
Keep it up boys.
