Match Reports - Round 5

Under 8 Gold

Round 5 saw the team play Berkeley Vale Panthers. It was another very strong performance from the team with minimal turnovers all match.
MOM Hugh was always around the ball both in attack and defence, resulting in him scoring 2 tries and making some excellent tackles.

Coaches award went to Braxton who scored his first try of the season. He ran hard all game, not at all daunted by being one of the smallest players on the field.

Ashton returned from a few weeks away and showed good line speed all match. Another outstanding performance by Cj in defence, from what I have seen so far this season he has earned the nickname The Axe. Matari showed good game awareness, always near the ball and played well at dummy half.
Xanda had good line speed and also passed well from dummy half. Nathan, Zack and Zaine all had solid all round games this week and crossed for tries.
Kobi and Hudson continue to move up with good line speed in defence and had some good runs in attack.

Under 10 Div 3

High 5 to ALL Players. Today displayed our best team effort so far.
The team as a whole worked well in defence talking to each other and really looked like everyone had fun even The Entrance coach commented. Today seen try’s scored by Lincoln, Cooper M, Sonny, Cooper B & today’s Captain Josh.
Conversions scored by Lincoln & Tate. Blade had a great catch from the kickoff & ran the ball straight & hard as did Jacob, Lachlan, Oran, Nash & Ty. Excellent defence from marker by Reef.
Today’s Match Player went to Cooper Myers for his great vision to spread the ball wide & on a few occasions resulted in try’s being scored by our team.

Under 14 Div 3

Northern Lakes Warriors 14 - Terrigal 20

Wow what a physical contest this game was, I bet there are a few sore boys today.
We were expecting a a very tough and fast game but perhaps not the speed of the big front rower from Terrigal. He caught us by surprise early.
From the get go Terrigal had us pinned in our end and attacking our line. Though the score line shows we lost, our defence today was very good and continuing to get better each week, especially defending our line and up in the middle. The score line could have been much different otherwise.
Our attack was shutdown very good by Terrigal , meaning we have some work to do in this area.
The second half was a much better performance from our boys with fitness being the key here. We train hard on fitness and it shows with all our boys playing the full game in such a draining contest physically.
Tries this week went to Toby, Alex and Jacko (U13s) with 1 conversion to Leon from the sideline.
Coaches award for best on ground went to Callan, for an absolutely outstanding performance in defence.
Waterboy award this week went to Alex. Scoring a try and stopping some with some great defence.
Whilst the score line didn’t go our away, our boys can be proud of the effort today.
They continue to do everything I ask of them and push themselves to do more.
Chin up boys.
